Hello! On November 11, actions were suppressed in various cities to mark the anniversary of the protest against the Platon system, which obliges heavy truck drivers to pay tolls on federal highways. In Nizhny Novgorod, the organizer of a car rally was stopped and a report was drawn up against him for non-payment of two unexpectedly discovered fines. In Ryazan and Tula, drivers standing in single pickets on cars with flags and stickers were detained, and in Tula the detentionwas explained by new amendments to the legislation on rallies: according to the Tula police, a car is a “prefabricated prefabricated structure”, and a single picket with the use of such a design requires approval.
Well, in Khimki, near Moscow, more than ten participants in the action of carriers were detained , as well as journalists and even lawyers who came to their aid (they were subdued by SOBR soldiers). It is unknown how the detention of Vedrussov, who was accused of holding an unapproved event, ended, but it is unlikely that he was punished as severely as Roman Roslovtsev, who was fined 300 thousand for “repeated violation of the order of the event” for another walk in the center of Moscow wearing a Putin mask. Under the same article, Viktor Kapitonov was fined either 300 or 200 thousand for a single picket on the day of the murder of Anna Politkovskaya. In Syktyvkar, the police showed up at a seminar by independent journalist Grigory Pasko under the pretext of searching for a bomb. The journalist was taken out of the audience and told that an anonymous call had been received that “Pasko wants to blow up Komi.” Shortly before this, several local publications wrote materials about Pasko’s arrival, which hinted at his connection with foreign intelligence services. A few days later, a lecture by a French journalist was interrupted there.
Unfreedom of Ildar Dadin
And in Karelia, pressure continues on Ildar Dadin, who is imprisoned in a local colony on charges of “repeated violations of the procedure for holding events.” For a long time they did not allow a lawyer to see him, they refused to allow him to have a defense lawyer . After meeting with him, Dadin’s wife Anastasia Zotova reported that he looked extremely bad and had a constant nervous tic. Meanwhile, Dadin's lawyers filed a cassation appeal against the verdict in his case with the Supreme Court .
When members of the Presidential Human Rights Council (who were also prevented from meeting with him) came to see Dadin in the colony, several prisoners climbed onto the roof with a banner “People, help!” After that, one of them, Anton Indeikin, disappeared : when the members of the HRC asked the representatives of the colony to bring him, they said that they did not have such a prisoner.
Persecution for speech
A resident of Chechnya, Ramazan Dzhalaldinov, who complained about corruption among local officials, was forced to flee the republic after, according to him, he was threatened with murder by the deputy head of the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs. In May, Dzhalaldinov already had to leave Chechnya after a public complaint: then his house was burned down, and his fellow villagers, as now, were interrogated, demanding to know where he was.
In the Kurgan region, resident Evgenia Chudnovets was sentenced to six months in prison for reposting a video of a child being abused in a children’s camp. Chudnovets claims that she wanted to draw public attention to the bullying. The court found her actions to be distribution of child pornography. In Chuvashia , two administrative cases were opened against local activist Dmitry Semenov for republishing posts with the image of deputy Vitaly Milonov: in both of them, the slogan “Orthodoxy and death!”, recognized as extremist, was used; in one case, Milonov was photographed wearing a T-shirt with such text. In the Saratov region, a case of slander against a local deputy, filed against journalist Sergei Vilkov, was returned to the prosecutor's office . But the libel case brought against Kursk journalist Olga Li was transferred to court , and to the very same court whose judge Li allegedly slandered.
