Activist fined for single picket on the day of Politkovskaya's murder

For a single picket on the day of Politkovskaya’s murder, Viktor Kapitonov was fined by the Tverskoy District Court under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (repeated violation of the picket procedure) - either 300,000 or 200,000 rubles - there was a typo in the sent copy of the document. Lawyer Oleg Beznisko reports this.

The trial took place in absentia - Kapitonov was in the hospital; during his arrest, police officers broke his arm. On September 23, the court fined Kapitonov 250,000 rubles under the same article for reading the Constitution in front of the State Duma.
