In Moldova in the presidential election, the socialist Dodon is the leader

In Moldova, a vote ended in the second round of the presidential election. According to preliminary data from the Central Election Commission, the socialist Igor Dodon is the leader - he has almost almost more than 55 percent of the vote. The right -winged candidate Maya Sandu was supported by 44.6 percent of voters.

53 percent of citizens - more than one and a half million people came to the polling stations. Record activity was shown by Moldova citizens living abroad - almost 130 thousand people. At a press conference following the vote, presidential candidates Dodon and Sandu announced a poor election organization. Both candidates are unhappy with the organization of voting outside the country.

The first voting round in the election of the President of Moldova was held on Sunday, October 30. In the second round, the head of the Party of Socialists Igor Dodon and the pro -European Majah Sandu, representing the party "Action and Justice", participate. Dodon promised in case of victory to restore strategic partnership with Russia. Sandu advocates strengthening ties with Romania, Ukraine and Western countries while maintaining non -conflict relations with Moscow.
