A year after Transaero’s flight stopping, the company's management approved a plan for creating a new air carrier on its basis. It is difficult to believe in the reality of this idea: an external observation was introduced in Transaero, the license is withdrawn, the planes returned to the lesslers, and the debt to banks - 92 billion rubles. Republic found out the details of the plan, talked with its initiators and tried to understand why it was needed.
As the REPULIC correspondent told two sources familiar with the company's plans, the ideologist of the Transaero Renaissance project, the former managing director of the TPG Aurora Foundation, Boris Karlov, who, together with the Investbanker Salavat Resbayev in the mid-2000s, tried to create the first Loucost Airnova in Russia. The airline Karlov and Resbaev in the end did not run, without agreeing with American partners. But on the basis of the project, the first two Russian discounters were launched : what was left of Airnova was bought by the owner of Kraseira Boris Abramovich and turned Sky Express into a airline, and the American investment fund, based on the same developments, was launched by the Avianova Luokoster.
