Police came to the home of a human rights activist who was imprisoned in the Bolotnaya case.
On November 16, police officers came to the home of politician and human rights activist Nikolai Kavkazsky, who had been in prison for about a year in connection with the Bolotnaya case. Kavkazsky reported this by calling the hotline.
OVD-InfoKavkazsky is a member of the youth branch of the Yabloko party in Moscow and an employee of the Committee for Civil Rights. When police officers came to his apartment, only Kavkazsky’s mother was at home. One of those who appeared introduced himself as an employee of the Center for Combating Extremism. According to the police, Kavkazsky is on the “list of extremists” and they came to have a preventive conversation with him. They asked the mother about her son’s occupation and his political views, and when she said that she didn’t really like what was happening in the country now, they began asking her with interest about her views.
In October, the police came to other persons involved in the Bolotnaya case - to Barabanov, and they voiced similar reasons - all these people are on the lists of persons prone to committing extremist and terrorist acts.
