
The total volume of loans issued by the Russian population with microfinance organizations in the third quarter of 2016 exceeded a mark of 100 billion rubles. This was reported by the National Bureau of credit stories (NBBA), which receives information from 2.7 thousand microfinance institutions.
As of October 1 of the current year, the volume of microcredits for Russians reached 109.8 billion rubles, increasing the quarter by 23.2%. At the same time, overdue debt on such loans has grown for the first time in the last three years, NBKI points out: by the beginning of the third quarter, it amounted to 21.9%.
In total, in the first nine months of 2016, the number of microcredites received by the Russians reached 7.97 million units (over the third quarter, the number of such loans increased by a third). As noted by the general director of NBBA, Alexander Vikulin, to date, about 10 million inhabitants of Russia have already been used or previously used the services of microfinance organizations.
According to the Bank of Russia, in general, in 2015, the volume of microloans issued to the Russians increased by 6.5% compared to the previous year and reached 139.9 billion rubles. According to the results of the second quarter of 2016, the total portfolio of microloans, according to the latest data from the Central Bank , increased in annual terms by 33.2% to 79.2 billion rubles, and the debt for such loans amounted to 23.9 billion rubles.
