Tuleyev will leave his post before New Year's greetings - expert

The criminal case of Aman Tuleev's deputies, who did a lot of good for the region, may lead to his resignation, the ex-candidate for mayor of Kemerovo, local politician Artur Stash, is sure. He believes that the crisis of regional power has dragged on.

“To all appearances, this situation is the beginning of the end of the Tuleev era in Kuzbass,” Stash said in an interview with Taiga.info. - It is a pity that it ends like this, all these corruption cases - I think there will be others - cover up with black paint all the good that Aman Gumirovich did for our region. Still, age makes itself felt. I communicate a lot with officials of various levels - a sharp drop in their quality. Why are only the cadres sent to replace [ex-head of Kemerovo Vladimir] Mikhailov.”

Stash is confident that the governor will resign before the end of 2016. “I can hardly imagine Tuleyev’s New Year’s greetings to the residents of Kuzbass with the representatives of the “governor’s team” serving at that time in isolation wards. 20 years in power is too much,” he said.

The head of the IC of the Russian Federation for the region, Sergey Kalinkin, has already gone to a pre-trial detention center until mid-January 2017. Tuleev's immediate subordinates were placed under house arrest: his first deputy, Alexander Danilchenko, and the head of the department of administrative bodies of the region, Elena Troitskaya. The Central District Court of Novosibirsk decides the fate of the vice-governor for interaction with law enforcement agencies Alexei Ivanov, the famous coal businessman Alexander Shchukin, his partner Gennady Vernigor, as well as the investigators who worked for Kalinkin: Sergey Kryukov and Artemy Shevelev.

The expert connects the appearance of the criminal case with the general financial situation: “Money has become scarce. Tuleev has tried to do something before, everyone remembers his periodic scoldings at public events: “What are you doing?!” And now, with a landslide crisis, the situation is getting out of control.”
