Yakov Krotov: This release of the program is devoted to an interview with a wonderful person, an Orthodox writer, a leading publisher, and editor. Our guest is Miroslav Bakulin from Tyumen, a nee Tobolchanin, the author of many interesting books and fiction, and essays, a person who, in his television studies over the past year, slowly condemned all the gospel from Mark.
Power and faith. Orthodox faith, Orthodox power ... Is Orthodox power possible?
Each time, coming to the liturgy, we pray for the authorities and army in our country
Miroslav Bakulin: These two concepts are directly related. Indeed, each time, coming to the liturgy, we pray for the authorities and army in our country. What power we are smalling for ourselves, this is how it is. That is, power is a certain equivalent or an indicator of the cathedral prayer of the Church.
Yakov Krotov: Do you thereby be on the side of the friends of Job, who were objectionable to God, because, in essence, they told him exactly the same?
Miroslav Bakulin: No, they told him about something else: you must repent because you suffer for your sins. And sins and suffering are in no way connected. And Job refused to exchange his childhood faith in God for an attempt to deal. The fact is that power is often turned into a deal, it seems to people that this is a deal. In fact, this has nothing to do with the deal.
Yakov Krotov: Why is Vera Job - children's? And what, the faith of his friends is an adult? This is their infantile faith, and he has an adult!
Miroslav Bakulin: No, childish, sincere and real, deep faith of Joba, even shows even that boldness (namely children), with whom he, like a child of God, addresses God, with him to the court. No one except the child will dare to call the father to court.
If our children had the opportunity to pull us to court, we would be better and children too
Yakov Krotov: Some say: oh, the wild West, in the same place the children drag their parents to court, and this is not good ... But in my opinion, if our children had the opportunity to pull us to court, we would be better for children too.
Miroslav Bakulin: Here I do not know: this is still the relationship of man and God, and the family should have the absolute power of parents. They must raise a child in one voice.
Yakov Krotov: The heretical thought that parents should educate ...
Miroslav Bakulin: Any person is born with some task. Here a person was born, and he already has a task from God - to obey his parents. Then he goes to school - we must obey teachers, then he comes to the army - we must obey the commander, then he comes to the organization - we must obey the boss. If he does not obey anyone, then complete anarchy and chaos will come.
Yakov Krotov: How many children do you have?
Miroslav Bakulin: There were four, there were three left.
Yakov Krotov: And they obey you?
Miroslav Bakulin: Yes, absolutely.
Yakov Krotov: How many years are they?
Miroslav Bakulin: the eldest - 29, the youngest - 3.
Yakov Krotov: Recently, I read one dissertation, the author of which wanted to compete with the founder of sociology Max Weber , who studied the difference between Lutherans and Calvinists. There is a difference in relation to predestination, and Weber believed that this subtle difference entailed the originality of the Swiss economy as a whole.
Weber was wrong. Then they checked and double -checked his data - he in vain dumped it on theology. But this Russian author decided to check if there was any special Orthodox business ethics. And he decided that Orthodox ethics from Catholic, Lutheran and so on was distinguished by obedience. He went to the monasteries and began to conduct field research of the monastery economy. Apparently, the dissertation is unsuccessful. Or will you agree that the main thing in Orthodoxy is obedience?
Any person is born with some task
Miroslav Bakulin: Indeed, the economic theory of both Weber and Calvina was based on things related to religion. At one time, Ulyam Blake said:
"Who is born into the light
Only for sorrows and troubles
Who is born forever
For the sake of joy, careless
Who - for the joy of careless
Who - for the endless night ... "
Augustine at one time half -joking agreed on predestination, and predestination settled in many fragile minds. Here is a segment of our life, say, at 70, 25 and a half thousand days, and now imagine that every second the Lord gives us all the possibilities for salvation, but at the same time leaves our absolute freedom. Such is the Orthodox point of view. The Orthodox economy is also based on this, if one, of course, could exist.
Yakov Krotov: But the question of obedience is the question of power.
Miroslav Bakulin: And if our rulers ruled the Orthodox?
The question of obedience is the issue of power
Yakov Krotov: What does it mean-rule in the Orthodox?
Miroslav Bakulin: They would be guided by the laws of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Yakov Krotov: And what about the Orthodox? This is the ideal of both Catholics and the Protestants.
Well, let's about power and property. Are these different things?
Miroslav Bakulin: No.
Yakov Krotov: The budgets of the monasteries, by which this sociologist traveled, are closed. Many admire the fact that, it turns out, it can be lifted from the ruins, from scratch from a kangaroo, with dogs, with an orphanage, and behind the facade of all this - crime, state subsidies. That is, money is taken from the poor and transferred to a monastery pocket, and such a glamorous hail of Kitezh appears. And the fact that because of this the grandmother does not have money for aspirin, as it were, remains behind the brackets. This economy is not obedience and power, but a robbery economy and letting smoke into the eyes. This, in essence, is a state farm, as it was under the Soviet regime: to take from one and give Stakhanov so that he could show a record. This is a bullshit!
Miroslav Bakulin: I am surprised: you are a perfect idealist in the economic sphere. The rich and poor will always be, they were under Christ. The problem is not poverty and wealth, not in the poor old woman who lacks bread, and not in the oligarch, who has a huge amount of money. Thank God there are different children in the family, and the Father loves everyone very much. They ask me: why are there rich, and they are fattening, and there are poor, and they are good people, but they are in poverty? The fact is that the Lord thinks in a completely different way: these healthy souls and spirit will go to the garden, they will work, but the wretched one was born, he has pens and legs crooked, he cannot put his porridge in his mouth, so I have more toys, and more money, and attention.
Yakov Krotov: That is, the rich are miserable?
The rich and poor will always be, they were under Christ
Miroslav Bakulin: Of course!
Yakov Krotov: Have you talked with some oligarch for a long time? In your opinion, do they have problems bringing a spoon to the mouth?
Miroslav Bakulin: Particularly, they have a problem of self -identification. These people do not go to work. Every normal person, here any adult man gets up in the morning and goes to work.
Yakov Krotov: And what a woman?
Miroslav Bakulin: A woman sits at home with kids. Many of my acquaintances work, earn good money, and they have mothers sit at home, raise a bunch of children.
Yakov Krotov: Are these your acquaintances?
Miroslav Bakulin: No! Ordinary laity! The problem is that we do not notice some new nested Russia. Not so long ago, I stood in the Znamensky Cathedral (and this is the largest temple of our city in Tyumen), and there they communed people from three bowls. I stood with my small ones in order to communion and communion myself, and suddenly I realized that I know all the people who are standing literally by name and patronymic, they grew up in Sunday schools, went to my Sunday school. They became successful businessmen, they have three, four, five children, and they are communed.
We do not notice some new nested Russia
And this is Russia, this is a huge Russia that we do not know about. We know that there is some kind of squalor, here are some oligarchs ... What is shown on TV is not true, but the truth is that a new amazing Russia has appeared, and at the expense of it the whole other Russia will develop. There is no village without a righteous, a plane does not fly without a righteous man, a car without a righteous does not travel. The righteous in the city disappears - the city disappears, the righteous in the village disappears - the village disappears.
The same thing with power. The people do not pray for power - and the authorities begin to decompose. The most important fall in the people begins when the people begin to condemn their own power in the kitchens. It is impossible to condemn its own power in the kitchen and at the same time come to the temple and say: "Lord, save and have mercy on the Russian power and its army."
Yakov Krotov: Do you propose to cross out the words about obedience or shut up in the kitchen?
Power is the one that we prayed
Miroslav Bakulin: either to those people who condemn, be silent at the liturgy, or not to go to it at all, to save themselves from the church. Or just revise your point of view on power and understand that the power that is, it is the one that we have prayed. Remember the famous Emperor Foku , who came out of ordinary Roman warriors: he was daring, chopped, became a hundred, then a centurion, and so on, in the end, achieved power with a terrible revolution. The Byzantine Empire, which was already then, fell, and one of the monks began to pray: "Lord, why did you send us such a terrible emperor?" And the Lord said: "I was looking for, but I didn’t find it worse."
Yakov Krotov: It resembles such medieval ancient Ukrainian annals as the "Tale of Bygone Years", and such medieval Russian chronicles as the "Nikonovsky Code". Indeed, then it turns out that the psyche of an Orthodox person is similar to a snake that bit itself by the tail, and no matter what happens, it interprets everything within the framework of such self -embossing. Well, or then the main Orthodox saint is the character from the novel by Ilf and Petrov, “The Golden Calf”, who with humility accepted that someone sat on his knees in the train compartment: “Well, if I have my knees, then someone should sit on them.”
And I recall the character, also a saint, but, probably, from another cluster, Patriarch Tikhon. He was asked how to pray for the Bolsheviks, they are now emerging, and he said: "No, it means that it is not power." Although then he began to pray for them.
Miroslav Bakulin: And now such a very strange pause hangs at the liturgy. Remember: "Lord, save ... pious and hear."
If I have my knees, then someone should sit on them
Yakov Krotov: With the Soviet regime, this phrase was not.
Miroslav Bakulin: Previously, this phrase sounded like this: "Lord, save the kings of pious and hear." It turns out that the Lord suddenly corrected the liturgy, removing one word from there, in a completely true direction. “Lord, save the pious”-that is, somewhere there, outside the temple are pious, and just hear us, because we are collected here, in the church, the worst, the most terrible, the most ugly ...
Yakov Krotov: You are somehow from the extreme to the extreme! Here, here, in the church, wonderful businessmen, wonderful husbands, rags, then “we are the most ugly” ...
Miroslav Bakulin: Well, they understand that they cannot be saved without God. Christ for them is the foundation. Therefore, they are wonderful and amazing, beautiful, wonderful people that they need Christ. They are Christ -promoted.
Yakov Krotov: I am embarrassed by one thing: is this not a philistinism in Christian packaging? After all, this is what Berdyaev wrote about - the difference between Christianity of salvation and Christianity of creativity, a fixation on his salvation and blindness to other people's suffering. After all, what you describe as revived Russia, I think, will cause resistance in many people, and people are not worst. And they will say that you have not only pink glasses, but very selective vision. There remains an evil, dry, tough old woman-statistics: reducing life expectancy, increasing incidence, lowering the level of education. And for you this is not.
Miroslav Bakulin: The British said: there is a lie, there is a big lie, but there are statistics.
There remains an evil, tough old woman-statistics: reducing life expectancy, increasing incidence, lowering the level of education
Yakov Krotov: Do you know what the biggest lie? This is a denial of statistics.
Miroslav Bakulin: I think that the Lord the Wise suits everything very wisely. The problem is different-we are still trying to think of those ideas that we were fed in the Soviet, and then in the post-Soviet time and are not trying to think that completely new people will appear, who will be in a completely new way to the world. And there will be a lot of them.
Yakov Krotov: And what's new in those people that you described? These people are described by Leskov and Tolstoy ...
Miroslav Bakulin: Leskov described them very badly, he was an atheist. And Tolstoye ...
Yakov Krotov: Well, he became an atheist. And there is no such sin - to be a Tolstoye. There is a sin - to be a gapeushnik.
Miroslav Bakulin: Well, it's not good, ugly. What are the decent people who described Russian Christians.
Miroslav Bakulin
Yakov Krotov: I will not call ...
Miroslav Bakulin: I'll name it! Nikiforov -Volgin is an almost forgotten name.
Yakov Krotov: No, not forgotten, but this is already utopia.
Miroslav Bakulin: Why utopia? Why every time we look at the Monk Sergius of Radonezh, should we think that this is utopia? Or at Seraphim of Sarov, on Anthony the Great, on the Ambrosion of Optinsky ...
There is no such sin - to be a Tolstoye. There is a sin - to be a gapeushnik
Yakov Krotov: I'll tell you why. Well, that is, you may be soberly look, but here I am a historian, and I look at them in my own way. For most people, Rev. Sergius is the founder of Russian monasticism. For the historian, the Monk Sergius is an unhappy man whose project was first intensively destroyed by his own elder brother, then his own prince, and then he was put on him an idiotic mission to excommunicate the whole Nizhny Novgorod ...
Miroslav Bakulin: These are all nonsense, external things. Rev. Sergius stands in the middle of this as a pillar, he is the affirmation of truth.
Yakov Krotov: He did not stand very much, he ran away from all this! He runs from his monastery, founded a new one, then he is convinced to return, then they do nasty things again - he runs again, founding a new one ... So there were six pieces.
Miroslav Bakulin: But the point was what happened in him. The city of Kitezh that took place in it, that’s the most important thing, everything else is nonsense. Take your fate, take my fate ... You can also say about us: he ran away from that, frightened this, was smeared there, made such a stupidity ...
Yakov Krotov: And who said that to escape is cowardice? You do not roll a barrel on the Monk Sergius! To run away from the monastery that you created with your handles, and leave the older brother, scandalist ...
Miroslav Bakulin: There is a lively example. Father Vasily Usereliev from the Kurgan region, who founded an unthinkable number of monasteries, ran away every time when they wanted to elevate him there.
Yakov Krotov: This is understandable. And, probably, you are right, these are all external circumstances, and Kitezh inside ...
Statistics concern only external circumstances. It does not concern the soul of a person, his heart, brain, his salvation
Miroslav Bakulin: The statistics that you talked about concerns only external circumstances. It does not concern the soul of a person, his heart, brain. She does not concern his salvation.
The topic of power still must be understood precisely from the part of prayers. There is a prayer - there is good power, there is no prayer - all that is the worst, terrible, disgusting, will be in power.
Yakov Krotov: In the Gospel, the word "power" is used, as a rule, first of all, when it comes to signs, about miracles. In Nazareth, the Lord did not create miracles in their unbelief, that is, human power is such a power that can even block miracles. But for you blindness, deafness, tooth pain, death in the torment of cancer, because the government forbade painkillers - these are all external circumstances, you need to think about the soul ... And for the Lord it was what he spent power on - that is the healing of the blind, heal the lame ...
Miroslav Bakulin: That's right. And you know why? Because we don’t have to think about the authorities at all. There are three indecent things that you should not talk about: these are children, money and power.
Yakov Krotov: Can you - children, money and despotism?
Miroslav Bakulin: No. Children, money and power. If we talk about despotism, then at one time there was a theory of two swords. Here the Lord asks: "How many swords do you have?" - "Yes." - "Well, enough." Referring to this piece from the Gospel, they say that dad has both swords - a spiritual sword and a secular sword, and he gives a secular one to whom he wants, and everything is built on it.
Power does not mean a lot in my life, because the apostle Pavel Naret Royal and Sacred, and no less to me. I am a king, I am a priest.
I'm king, I'm a slave
Yakov Krotov: At Derzhavin, in my opinion, a little differently: "I am a king, I am a slave."
Miroslav Bakulin: This is nothing more than a manner of his side. It is very difficult to withstand your own royal priesthood. At one time, I read with Vladyka Anthony Surozhsky that he had a tooth, and he told himself: I am a monk, I will pray. And he prayed in the temple for almost a day, and then he took the pliers and pulled out his tooth, being a military surgeon. So, we, the royal priesthood, forget that the pliers are in our hands.
Throwing.
He knows.
