An independent mufti of Crimea was formed in Kyiv

In Kyiv, an independent spiritual department of the Muslims of Crimea was formed. This was reported on Saturday "15 minutes."

The decision was made at the congress of representatives of the Crimean Tatar Muslim organizations. All 40 delegates from 14 religious associations voted. Auder Rustamov was chosen by the mufti of Crimea. 38 delegates supported his candidacy.

Elections were also held to the Council of Ulemov (Theologians) - the coordination and controlling body of the muftiyat. It included nine people with religious education; Two more places are reserved for members of the Mejlis or veterans of the national movement. The head of the council was elected Suleiman Khairulaev.

After the election in an interview from “15 minutes”, Rustamov assured : “I, as a mufti, will make every effort to talk about the problems of Crimean Tatars - Muslims to protect their rights to all possible international sites.”

Crimean Tatars, Mufti noticed, ran into challenges that need to be answered. He attributed, in particular, to the oppression of his people in the annexed Crimea.

The plans to form a new spiritual department of Muslims, the National leader of the Crimean Tatars, Mustafa Dzhemilev, announced in early January . The spiritual department of Muslims, operating in Simferopol, after the annexation of the peninsula, began to cooperate with illegal Russian authorities. Formally, Ablaev, as well as a number of other collaborators, until recently continued to be considered a member of the Mejlis. On September 22, a few days after the Duma elections, the mufti was expelled from this structure .

In mid -October, Ablaev was convicted of writing denunciations for Muslims in the FSB, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor's office.

In early November, the Simferopol muftiy said that he did not object to the construction of the Orthodox Church on the site of the destroyed Biyuk-jami (large cathedral mosque) in Feodosia.
