Syrian authorities rejected the plan of the UN specialist Stefan de Mistura about the provision of self -government of the eastern part of Aleppo. It is reported by Reuters .
“This proposal is absolutely unacceptable. This is a violation of our sovereignty, ”said the Foreign Minister of Syria Valid al-Miallem after negotiations with de Mistur.
The eastern part of Aleppo is controlled by rebel groups, as well as militants of the Ang Nusra terrorist organization.
The proposal of de Mistura, supported by the United States, was announced against the backdrop of intensifying battles in Aleppo. On November 20, human rights activists reported the deaths of seven children as a result of the school of artillery shelling, located in the Western District of the city controlled by the authorities.
Over the past few months, Aleppo remains the main place of fighting in Syria. The army of President Bashar al -Assad, with the support of Russian aviation, is trying to knock out rebel groups and terrorists from the city.
