Alexander Ilyushin died

On November 19, in Moscow, at the age of 76, a philologist, historian and theorist of literature, a translator and poet, author of the first Russian syllabic translation of the “Divine Comedy” Dante Alexander Ilyushin died.

This was announced by philologist Mikhail Dzyubenko.

Alexander Anatolyevich Ilyushin was born in 1940 in Moscow, in 1962 he graduated from the Faculty of Faculty of Moscow State University (Russian branch), in 1966 he defended his thesis on “Decembrists' poetry in the literary movement of the first third of the XIX century”, in 1985 - a doctoral dissertation on the theme of Russian Sallaby.

In 1965-1973 he worked at the Institute of Slavic Studies and Balkanism of the USSR Academy of Sciences, then taught at the Department of History of Russian Literature Faculty of Philology of Moscow State University, since 1994 he was the chairman of the Dante commission of the Russian Academy of Sciences, a responsible editor of the Dante Readings collection.

The field of scientific interests of Alexander Ilyushin was Russian and world poetry, the problems of its authentic translation, history and theory of verse. The author of many books and articles, including the work of Dante, Simeon of Polotsk, Adam Mitskevich, Gabriel Batenkov, Alexander Polezhaev, A, K, Tolstoy, Nikolai Nekrasov.

Alexander Ilyushin carried out the first translation into the Russian language of the “divine comedy” Dante in compliance with the size of the original, awarded the named gold medal of the Dante society, the city of Florence (1996), the Medal of the city of Ravenna (1999), the medal of the Dante center of Ravenna (1999).
