The City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod unanimously decided to perpetuate the memory of Boris Nemtsov’s murdered in February last year, the press service of the City Duma reports . On house number 134 on the Agronomic street, a memorial plaque will be installed for him.

The head of the city, Ivan Karninin, noted that he received many citizens' appeals about perpetuating the memory of the First Nizhny Novgorod governor. “At the moment, more than a year has passed after the death of Boris Efimovich, so the law allows official measures to perpetuate his memory,” the mayor noted.

Raisa Nemtsova, who was the wife of politics for 18 years and did not interrupt his friendly relations before his death, called the decision of the Duma historical. In her opinion, it is inconsistent, on which of the houses a commemorative board should appear. “We lived in private apartments, and the only place where it was registered is the house on the agronomic. And the house of his childhood is on Krylov Street. I don’t know which one doesn’t have much importance on. His memory, in principle, is already immortalized. The only thing that was not at the state level,” said Nemtsova.

Nemtsov served as the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region from 1991 to 1997.

The co-chair of the RPR-Parnas Nemtsov was killed on February 27, 2015 in Moscow. At the site of his death, a memorial spontaneously arose. People brought flowers, lamps, as well as flags and posters. The proposals were made to rename the Big Moskvoretsky bridge in Nemtsov Bridge. The memorial was repeatedly attacked .

In July last year, Parnassus sent a guarantee letter to the Moscow City Duma that the party was ready to take on all the costs associated with the development of the project of a commemorative plate and its installation at the site of the murder of Nemtsov. However, the Moscow City Duma Commission on monumental art rejected the idea of ​​installing a memorial plaque to Nemtsov.

On September 13, politician Dmitry Gudkov and journalist Tikhon Dzyadko handed over to the Moscow City Hall to the head of the city of the city Sergey Sobyanin about the installation on the large Moskvoretsky bridge in memory of Nemtsov . The document was signed by more than 30 thousand people. The collected signatures took 724 sheets.

On the anniversary of the death of Nemtsov in Yaroslavl on the house on Trefolev Street with the inscription, a commemorative plate with the inscription "lived in this house by Boris Nemtsov, a citizen and patriot of Russia". However, already on March 15, the plate was dismantled . The initiator of its installation, deputy of the regional Duma of Vasily Ceependu, was fined "for violation of the rules for posting information." In May, the Leninsky District Court of the city of Yaroslavl declared illegal to bring chain to administrative responsibility.
