The presidential affairs department "will make all the necessary personnel decisions in accordance with the instructions of the head of state." This was stated by the press secretary of the business manager Elena Krylova after Vladimir Putin criticized officials who became academicians and corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), TASS . reports

According to Dozhd's source , up to ten officials may fall under disgrace because of their "scientific activity":

• head of the main military medical department of the Ministry of Defense Alexander Fisun;

• Deputy Head of Roshydromet Alexander Makosko;

• Vladimir Degtyar, General Designer of Makeev GRC;

• Vasily Khristoforov, Head of the Department for Registration and Archival Funds of the FSB of Russia;

• member of the military-industrial commission under the government, Igor Sheremet;

• Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexander Savenkov;

• member of the Federation Council from Buryatia Arnold Tulokhonov;

• Vladimir Verba, General Designer of the Vega Radio Engineering Concern.

In addition, the director of the Hermitage Mikhail Piotrovsky and adviser to the president of the United Aircraft Corporation Boris Aleshin fall under the criterion of civil service.

On Wednesday, Putin accused officials and employees of law enforcement agencies that, despite the recommendations of the Kremlin, they decided to participate in the elections to the Russian Academy of Sciences. “They are great scientists, right? I think that I will have to give them the opportunity to do science, because, apparently, their scientific activity is much more important than the performance of some routine administrative duties in government and administration,” he said.

Elections to the Russian Academy of Sciences were held in October. 176 people were elected academicians, 323 more candidates became corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences. According to the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Vladimir Fortov, these were the largest elections in the history of the Academy.

Earlier in 2015, Putin recommended that officials not be elected to the Russian Academy of Sciences, as this would interfere with their public service, and they are unlikely to be able to work "in their free time", since officials have too much work.
