The deputy of the European Parliament from the Dutch party "Democrats-66" Marked Skhake sent an EU commissar Federica Mogherini a request for the investigation of the supply of air fuel to Syria through the ports of European countries. It is reported by Reuters.

Earlier, the agency, citing a source in the intelligence of one of the EU countries, wrote that at least two vessels under Russian flags with aviation fuel were proceeded to Syria through Cyprus. Another source in the Trade Fleet - said that the vessels under Russian flags also entered the ports of Greece.

Meanwhile, the EU Council back in 2014 by its resolution banned any supply to Syria of aviation fuel through countries - members of the European Union, regardless of whether the fuel has been produced in these countries or not. The Russian Ministry of Defense said at the same time that they would continue to supply fuel for their air group in the Middle Eastern country.

The Foreign Ministry of Cyprus told Reuters that the country's authorities did not give Russian vessels following Syria with aviation fuel, permission to enter their ports. In the Greek Foreign Ministry, journalists were addressed to the Ministry of Commercial Fleet and island territories, which has not yet responded to the request.
