The Eagle Factory District Court refused to satisfy the lawsuit of the ex-deputy of the City Council Yuri Malyutin on the demolition of the monument to Tsar Ivan the Terrible, Interfax reports . The plaintiff pointed out the illegality of the construction of the monument in the security zone adjacent to the Epiphany Church.

"The court refused to satisfy the stated requirements for the demolition of the monument to Ivan the Terrible. By allowing the dispute on the merits, the court came to the conclusion that the established monument to Ivan the Terrible is not located within the boundaries of the monument to the children's archeology of the city of Oryol. The procedure and the procedure for the establishment of this monument were not violated," the court ruling said. The court decision did not enter into legal force and may be appealed in the Oryol Regional Court.

On October 30, a bag was put on the head of the monument to Grozny. The horse was strengthened in the teeth, which supported the sign with the inscription "What a spirit, darkness." The police detained a 36-year-old resident of Yaroslavl. He came to the eagle specifically to hold his action. The name of the protester was not called. The detainee was fined 500 rubles under Article 20.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (petty hooliganism).

On October 23, an alternative monument to Grozny in the form of a bloodied stake appeared in Kansk. It was established by the Krasnoyarsk artist Vladislav Gultyev. He noted that he was inspired by the “controversial initiative” of the installation of the monument to the “sadly famous king” in Orel. “Agreeing with the installation of such monuments, we silently approve of repressions, torture and execution. The people who cannot stand useful lessons from their history are forced to repeat the mistakes again and again; it is terrible when such errors are washed by rivers of blood,” wrote Gultyev.

Kansk officials said that the stake was installed on municipal land illegally. On October 29, the stake was cut.
