The photographer Anton Karliner met with the workers of the bankrupt Krasnodar Building Plant Sedin, who have not received a salary for about two years, and talked with them about life for five thousand rubles a month, Obama, United Russia and extremism.

The Krasnodar machine -building plant - the oldest industrial enterprise of the Kuban - was founded back in 1911. Named later in honor of the Tokarya-Krasnoarmeyza Sedin, who died in the civil war, the plant was one of the world's largest manufacturers of turning and carousel machines.

Boris Vasiltsov, a mechanic of mechanical assembly, 64 years, 43 years (left). Vladimir Zharov, electrician, 64 years old, 44 years of experience
Vasiltsov: “Personally, it seems to me that our plant was the richest in Europe-there was so much wealth that for 20 years it was already pulling, they are stealing, stealing ... but, in my opinion, finished to the end. Everything was already stolen, you will not find anything. ”
Zharov: “At one time, machines went to 55 countries, I personally drove abroad, launched the machines, they were in demand, but then the situation changed dramatically - it seems like let us privatize. A plant was scored on the firms, which was 5,500 people, and then each firm was slowly declared bankrupt, sold the territory, and in the end we had the first and third corps. And for some reason the owner was [CEO] Igor Arkadievich Sobolev, not a labor collective. We have shares, but we have never received a dime.
Here, in each company-the director, accountant and all the other ten people, and one or two workers were given. Like a proverb, one with a bipod, seven with a spoon. Salary is now 5,200 rubles. Can I live for that kind of money? We are the people of old sourdough, we have cottages, we still feed on the ground, there is an help. We do not panic. When they call us there, do not go to the square, do not strike, I say: "The well -fed hungry does not mean." After all, you get a salary, sitting in warmth, and we have not been heated for 25 years.
We do not put forward political requirements, we have two points: salary arrears and maintenance of machine tools. Without machine tools, what can you develop? The West will not give us modern machines now. Persuasion is not to go to the square. We learned that we are going on the half-four on the 14th [November 2016]-at 11:00 the administration is already here. I look, women do not go, they say: we were told that they are equated with extremism. But I went, and many people went. The union was supported by the independent. "

For the past few years, the company has experienced constant financial difficulties; In 2015, the loss of ZASKOZADVAD CJSC Sedin increased by 55% to 35.7 million rubles. To date, salary debt to employees is 16 million rubles.

Vyacheslav wind, chief engineer-designer, 32 years, 10 years experience
“The problems began with the fact that we concluded a state contract on unprofitable conditions, took a lot of loans, and in the end for some reason did not work out. The order was completed, the machine is ready, but when our Minister of Industry came here, he excluded us from the state program, and moreover, he also made a fine. The plant has incurred losses and is now in bankruptcy proceedings. It is difficult to say why it happened. The Ministry of Industry and Trade has such a policy now: to buy ready -made samples instead of bothering with the production of new prototypes. No, it’s better to buy imported, we’ll collect it in Russia, it will work, and for some reason they do not burn their own desire.
This was November 29, 2013, and after that wage arrears began to accumulate. When there were five to six months of debt, they said: we will pay you, do not take out the SC from the hut, everything will be fine. The accumulation continued, and, accordingly, rushed - we decided to go outside. It was before the 2015 elections. The company of officials of all stripes arrived, we were persuaded. But the elections in September passed, and nothing decided. On December 31, 2015, we were paid a salary debt for 12 months. Then we received a notice of reduction without payment of wage arrears, without a weekend. People from the easel were partially scattered into small enterprises, but there also began the delays in salaries.
To survive this year, my brother and I moved to his stepfather, finished his house, he fed us, and we rented an apartment and lived for this money. Now my brother and I, to earn, are engaged in decoration of apartments. This is now the main job.
On March 31, there was the first provocation - we wanted to go to the administration of the region, we went out, and United Russia organized its own rally, which we became involuntary participants. Then we moved to the city administration, federal inspector - and they followed us everywhere. We turned to law enforcement agencies: why, they say, after us, let’s say, this group with flags moves? And they say that they have everything agreed on the territory of the city of Krasnodar, here they can move anywhere. And before we went out on November 14, there were calls - both representatives of the administration and power structures called. They said that these were attempts by extremism. We are sitting here without money, without work, and still hang on us? ”

In the spring of 2016, the Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory recognized the plant bankrupt. The property of the enterprise was arrested back in September 2015, when the bailiffs tried to recover salary debts for the previous nine months.

Sergey Velichenko, leading engineer-designer, 41 years old, work experience of 10 years
“On November 7, I, in fact, turned ten years of work at the factory from which we were turbid by the whole labor collective. Now we are already sitting without money, without the prospects of any clear-no one really says anything to us, we can’t understand anything, what should we do. We have a troubled time, fog in our heads. Supervision of emotions - it was simply unrealistic last year. Whoever we just talked with - with governors, with mayors, with inspectors in the city of Krasnodar, in the Southern Federal District, spent gatherings. As a result, we managed to knock out only part of the duty. For this year, since January, no payments on our duty, even the most minimal, were made. Some people were arranged at enterprises on our site. Some of them receive salaries of five to six thousand with a delay for several months, some are generally not received. We, designers, were a little more lucky - we showed solidarity, and we managed to achieve that the investor who was going to come here supported us. For several months we worked with him, and we turned out relatively well, but in the last month, due to disagreements with the leadership of the plant, he suspended activities with us.
I have a lot of difficulties at home, the child went to first grade, I am all on my nerves because of this. My wife works, of course, but she is a visually disabled person, works two days a week on weekends while I am with a child. It is not very beautiful to ask your parents money when you are 41 years old, even disgusted to me yourself. We are waiting for some clarity: either the investor refuses us, or we will think how to get out of this position. I can spit everything and go look for a job, but if we start to diverge now, then you won’t go back anymore. If in the 1990s the design bureau was 200-300 people, now we have a department-25 people, and 14-15 remained. And without a design bureau, here, at this factory, it will be impossible to restore anything. ”

The criminal case against the ex-director of the plant Dmitry Chumachenko was submitted to court back in November 2015. The manager is accused of non -payment of salaries (part 2 of Article 145.1 of the Criminal Code) and tax evasion (part 1 of article 199.1). The results of the consideration of the case were not reported.

Alla Anechkin, Engineer-Technologist, 64 years old, 40 years of experience
“I came here after the institute. As I came to the department of the chief technologist, I did not shy anywhere, whatever difficulties at the factory - I suffered, dragged. When I came, the plant flourished. I thought I would work for a year and leave, and now this year still lasts. It has grown. We are not used to running here. We survived a lot, from the department, which was about 160 people, there were literally ten. It was a department that was engaged in the technological preparation of production.
The machine tool in the country is almost completely destroyed. Probably someone needs it, to whom, I don’t know-history will show. Previously, there was a machine-building school, a fixture college-it now has become some kind of college, but not machine-building. They prepare mechanics for the repair of cars, refrigerators, in general all kinds of fele, but not the machine tools. In the Polytechnic, yes, there is a specialty, only the sense of that? Those who stayed here - to whom to transfer the experience? We’ll leave now, and it itself will collapse. It can be seen that someone needs us to leave in order to calmly take it with your bare hands. And who will work with these yellowlors? Obama?
We were very much deceived when this state order was. But, as they say, God is not a fraer, he will see everything and he will count everything, as we were doused and deceived. We were proud of what we were doing, and then we were simply thrown. Someone reconciled, someone was not, someone was worried-for example, I got to the hospital. They morally killed people. I am probably one of the last idiot, which still have some kind of faith. We agree to any outcome - albeit at least nationalized, even if the investor comes. We don’t care in what form it will be, because we need work.
What a clean, beautiful our factory was! We only walked along the pedestrian paths, the roses bloomed, everything was cleaned, and what is being done now? At least the same governor came and looked. I believe Putin so far, but I suspect so that his assistant, precisely in industry, is not the one. ”

Employees of the plant held the first street protest in October 2015. The rally gathered about 100 participants and went under the slogan "for innovation in machinery building and a worthy life of the gray -haired people."

Shapovalov Ilya, Board engineer, 34 years, work experience of 10 years
“I wrote to our government - Medvedev, the president. They promised to figure it out, no one was understanding. On March 10, I was reduced, they have not yet paid off the debt. The part was paid in December - the administration was fussing, but this was only part. No more than ten thousand were paid, and then not every month, but how the money came. I had to strain relatives. Time goes on, the money that should not be calculated with us for reduction. All the time shift the deadlines. In short, the problem here is one: there is no working capital. We are now working on the principle of the pyramid: they pay us, we do something, do not pay-we are standing, waiting. ”

In November 2015, the Governor of the Krasnodar Territory Veniamin Kondratyev, who called the demands of the workers, met the “scream of despair” with the labor collective of the plant.

Alexey Kirichenko, design engineer of the first category, 52 years old, 30 years of experience
“Exactly 30 years ago, I came to a young specialist at the plant in the design bureau.
He graduated from the Novocherkassk Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Electric Plant of Industrial Installations. In October 1986, I came, and in October 2016 I was left without a livelihood.
The family has problems. Quarter pay arrears. We sat without a salary for one and a half to two years, everyone promised us, in particular, our director-“close” [debt] in August, in March, in May ... and so promises, they feed breakfast, feed. Now they promise February-early March.
We hope, otherwise we would not go to these gatherings. While there is hope, we will walk - everything within the law, without violating anything. Then it came - I called the fans of the Kuban so that they would come massively. So this site was almost blocked. Extremism, terrorism - if we went out to ask that salary debts that are not paid for two years are extinguished, is this extremism? Or so that I have work - is that terrorism?! We just came to talk without posters, no political slogans there. What is such extremist in this? They ran into the guys there, calls there were threatened. This is incomprehensible to the mind. ”

On November 9, 2016, a meeting of plant workers decided to hold a popular gathering and a series of single pickets against non -payment of salaries and layoffs. On November 11, the VKontakte plant was blocked at the request of the Prosecutor General .

Zhanna Ponomarenko, Technologist Engineer, 59 years old, 37 years old
“I am so far and, so to speak, work. Now our bankruptcy procedure has begun, and I am carrying out the work - I select the necessary documentation. They don’t pay salaries, it’s hard to live on one pension. My pension is relatively good, 12 thousand, I already laughed - eight [thousand] communal apartment, there are four left, which means that I have 130 rubles a day. If you want to eat, you want - do not eat. It’s guilty, it was necessary to find something, but a sense of duty ...
On Monday, I took the application to the prosecutor's office that we did not pay for the salary. Many were reduced, they were not paid compensation for dismissal either. I took it, I don't know what will happen. Maybe they will sell some property and pay people a salary.
I do not really believe in folk gatherings. The last time I was on the 14th-the regional, city administration came, the vice-governor promised that they would rent a third corps, and everything would begin to work. Hopes? It seems more and more that there is no, that the plant will not work. ”

Alexandra Zabolokina, design engineer of the second category, 27 years old, five years
“Hard, very hard. I was still lucky with the fact that I have my own housing, I do not need to rent it, but I live far, outside the city. When I came to the factory, young specialists put the minimum salaries here: they say, guys, gain experience. Then the delays began. Two or three months-this was considered the norm, and then more and more: four, five months. The salary came out 14 thousand, a maximum of 15 thousand. And the leak of the personnel went colossal, and the leading specialists [left] people who gave all their lives, they know the machine from “A” to “I”, because they have been engaged in these machines all their lives. And now they are from the factory, it turns out, survived.
There are already no normal work for two years. And they don’t pay money. Even just ride [nothing], not to mention the fact that the repair should be done at home.
We have our own garden, greenhouse, pond, chickens, cow - all of its own for food. That is, you come after work and you still need to go to work. Everyone during this period had some additional work. Someone did the drawings, for someone, for example, a construction.
At the moment, there are no other options, except for protest. Why were we able to achieve something? Because gray hair is a brand. Here they come out, say, to the picket, and people often do not even pay attention. But when I stood with a picket, a person goes and sees: gray hair. Everything, he caught on, he says: listen, look, gray hair! Cars are driving, the signaling. "

On November 14, the Vice-Governor of the Kuban Sergey Altukhov promised the factory that salary debts would be repaid after the sale of the property of the enterprise to a new investor who would resume production. According to the official, the conditions and terms of sale will be approved until the end of December. Soddasono with the data of the Unified Federal Register of Bankruptcy Information, the property of the plant is estimated at 121 million rubles.

Valentina Gritsenko, crane operator, 66 years old, 30 years of experience
“I am a pensioner, why should I show off? The machine tool for today owes me 100 thousand. We tighten the belts tightly, we do not allow ourselves any pleasures, just to pay for housing and communal services and somehow feed. We are disenfranchised people. "

On November 24, a message appeared in the newly created group of the VKontakte plant that negotiations with the administration of the enterprise and officials had failed, and in the near future another gathering is planned.

Yuri Ivanov, CNC operator, 36 years old, 17 years of experience
“I am a little easier with me than with others, because I am considered a valuable employee here - I work on machines with digital control. It seems to hold on to me so as not to let go, and the salary is higher than that of others. Those with whom I work, now the salary dropped to 12-15 thousand-try to live when prices have risen yourself know how. Previously, when the salary was 25 thousand, people still did not have the opportunity to postpone something. This is morally crushing. The helm is constantly the same, but they don’t let others try. My policy - [must] transfer the bank management so that they really take up the development of the plant. Whatever plans the local authorities make, I am categorically against them. Because in ten years there was a bunch of different programs, and they did not understand. And why are we going to step on the rake for the 11th time, if we are already familiar with how our rule works? I will not say that it is illiterate. It is competent, but in a pocket. My opinion - throughout the country, privatization was stupidly scam. When the plant was bought, each employee was issued shares, and then they twisted the manipulations so that these shares were propagated, and they began to cost a penny. People, having nothing, began to sell these shares.
There will be no sense in popular gatherings-until the regional authorities press our leadership, or the investigation department will not find something about their dishonest affairs. And what we say is just pushing the air. ”

According to the VKontakte plant, on the eve of the national gathering on November 14, workers were threatened by criminal prosecution.
