“There will be a lot of visitors”: Muscovites on the accession of the Republic of Khakassia to Russia (which is already in Russia)

Journalists of the Khakass publication "New Focus" asked Muscovites what they think about the accession of the Republic of Khakassia, which has been in Russia since the 18th century. But it turned out that some residents of the capital do not know about this.

The respondents replied that there would be many problems with the accession of Khakassia: “They must somehow feed them”, “There will be a lot of visitors”, “they will allocate money constantly, like the Crimea.” Some admitted that they did not care and "depending on what kind of people it is." Someone immediately stated that he did not hear about such a state.

However, most of the Muscovites surveyed still know that the Republic of Khakassia is part of the Russian Federation.

The Republic of Khakassia is located in the Siberian Federal District between the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Altai, Tuva and the Kemerovo region. Officially, the Khakass lands became part of Russia in 1727, but in fact - in 1758, when the tsarist government placed border garrisons after the invasion of Chinese troops on Altai.
