The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko announced a suspicion (corresponds to the charges of Russian law) Viktor Yanukovych in the treason, Ukrainian Pravda reports . "You, Yanukovych Viktor Fedorovich, are suspected of committing state treason, aiding representatives of the authorities of the Russian Federation in deliberate actions committed in order to change the boundaries of the territory and state border of Ukraine, violations of the order established by the Constitution of Ukraine and the conduct of an aggressive war," Lutsenko said. The Prosecutor General clarified that we are talking about the crimes provided for in paragraph 1 of Article 111, part 5 of Article 27, part 3 of Article 110, part 2 of Article 437 of the Criminal Code.

The content of the suspicion is announced verbally, Lutsenko noted. The relevant documents were awarded to Yanukovych’s lawyer, and also sent to all the well-known addresses of the ex-president.

That he destroyed the sovereignty of the state that swore allegiance to the Constitution. In the fact that as a result, 2263 troops of Ukraine were killed, 8394 were injured, 1 million 700 refugees. Yanukovych himself said that shooting on Euromaidan was a planned special operation, the purpose of which is the overthrow of power in Ukraine. The ex-president accused the “Right Sector” and “Freedom” of “active radical actions”. At the same time, Yanukovych, under the oath, said that he did not give an order to execute the protesters. "From the very beginning to the very end, I was against the use of bloodshed. I cannot give such orders," the ex -president said.

Yanukovych’s interrogation was to take place on November 25. However, the meeting was postponed due to the fact that the accused, former employees of Berkut, were not taken to court. Several dozen activists blocked the departure from the Lukyanovsky pre -trial detention center in Kyiv. According to the press secretary of the Right Sector, Artem Skoropadsky, the party fears that the court will let go of the accused from the guard. The head of the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov said that the police would not enter into a power conflict with the protesters.

In July, Lutsenko said that the cases of 19 "Berkutovites" involved in executions on the Maidan were transferred to court . Six of them are in custody. The affairs of 13 more people are at the stage of pre -trial investigation, five of them were arrested. According to Lutsenko, soon these cases will also be transferred to court.

Another 36 people are wanted and will be convicted in absentia. "I also assume the transfer of this prosecution in court this year," said the Prosecutor General.

At the end of October last year, the assistant to the prosecutor general of Ukraine Vladislav Kutsenko stated that Yanukovych personally ordered the use of weapons against the Maidan.
