Kirkorov commented on the detention of musician Maruani

Singer Philip Kirkorov told Life that he was forced to go to the police because of the “streams of lies” and the accusations of musician Didier Marouani.

“I was silent all this time, it was so absurd for me, all these claims, accusations, so many lies directed at me by this composer. It's just that my cup of patience was overflowing when it crossed all the lines of what was permitted and legal. Someday this had to come to an end. It happened today,” he said.

As Kirkorov noted, the conflict with Marouani forced him to "ask for protection from the state."

On Tuesday , it became known that police detained composer Didier Marouani and lawyer Igor Trunov on Pokrovka Street in the center of Moscow because of Philip Kirkorov's statement about extortion by a foreign musician.

Earlier, Marouani accused Kirkorov of plagiarism, and on November 28, Trunov's lawyer said that the parties would sign a settlement agreement. He noted that Kirkorov admitted the fact of plagiarism and agreed to pay compensation. Later, Kirkorov's lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky stated that there were no agreements.
