Dozhd learned about a new candidate for the post of head of the Ministry of Economic Development

The post of Minister of Economic Development may be taken by the governor of the Tyumen region Vladimir Yakushev. This was reported by the Dozhd TV channel, citing sources.

According to the publication, his candidacy is being lobbied by one of the power groups with the help of federal television. It was the promotion of Yakushev to the post of minister that Dozhd's interlocutors explained the plot, which on Sunday aired on the state channel Rossiya 1.

It is noted that deputy ministers Yevgeny Yelin (he is now acting minister) and Stanislav Voskresensky could apply for the position of minister.

The post of Minister of Economic Development was vacated after Russian President Vladimir Putin dismissed Alexei Ulyukaev from his post due to a loss of confidence.

Recall that Ulyukaev was detained on the night of November 15. He is accused of taking a bribe on an especially large scale with extortion. According to investigators, Ulyukaev illegally demanded a bribe from a representative of Rosneft for a positive opinion that allowed Rosneft to acquire a state-owned stake in Bashneft.
