Daria Polyudova went to court to commute her sentence

Asreported on the Facebook account of Kuban activist Daria Polyudova, she sent documents asking for the remaining sentence to be commuted to a more lenient one, in the form of restriction of freedom. In addition, Polyudova said that it is very cold in the room where she is serving her sentence, and she has to wear boots.

In September, the Krasnodar Regional Court already recognized the refusal of Polyudova’s request for parole as legal. Polyudova has already tried to appeal the verdict twice. The appellate court recognized it as legal, and the Supreme Court refused to consider the complaint. A complaint against the verdict was filed with the European Court of Human Rights.

Polyudova, who was repeatedly subjected to detentions and administrative arrests, was the organizer of the failed March for the federalization of Kuban in Krasnodar. The reason for the criminal prosecution was publications on Polyudova’s page on the social network VKontakte, in which she wrote about the need for a revolution in Russia and the annexation of Kuban to Ukraine.
