The “Vinzavod” will host an exhibition of Alexander Primachenko

On December 6, in the Center for Contemporary Art “Vincuvod”, an exhibition of artist Alexander Primicachenko “Safe House” is opening an experimental laboratory with experiments on time and space movements.

At the exhibition “Safe House” (curator - Kirill Preobrazhensky), photo collages, videos and objects of wax will be presented.

“Wax seems to me very physical material, tangible, closest to the flesh. - says Alexander Primachenko. “He looks like a body.” This is something closer to us than metal or plastic, something more noticeable. It was interesting to choose the wax for a conversation about the intersection of different layers of reality and the non -existent to be embodied in such an extremely physical, organic material. ”

In the center of the exhibition is the video “ðreamScape” , the interpretation of the photomanus “Right strip”, shot in the early 60s French documentary Chris Marker.

This is the history of the world after the Third World War. People who are forced to live in a dungeon create a device that can move them to the past. The main character is an experimental, on which a new technology is tested. Using the device, he plunges into memories, trying to collect the image of the past from the fragments of memory. Its goal is to restore the connections between the fragmentary fragments of consciousness and outline the path for humanity, which captured the catastrophic present.

The same device, a helmet of virtual reality, is recreated in his video by Alexander Primachenko. His hero again after time plunges into the destroyed game 3D-world. The journey is accompanied by inserts of memories from childhood. The hero hardly combines the layers of disparate experience, his personality on the verge of dissolution. The paths to a clear understanding of reality are maximally blurred.

The exhibition of Alexander Primachenko “Safe House” at the Start site will last until January 8, 2017.
