Theater SAC will present the premiere of the Britten children's opera

On December 3 and 4, on the small stage of the Moscow State Academic Children's Musical Theater named after Natalia Satz, the premiere of the opera Benjamin Britten “Noah's Ark”, written specifically for children.

The opera tells the biblical parable from the book of Genesis about the Great Flood, about the death and revival of life on Earth. The libretto is based on the texts of the Chester medieval miracles of the 16th century based on the Old Testament history about the Noah's Ark.

The composer provided for the participation of children performed by Neva Ark: if adult singers are entrusted with the roles of God, Noah and his wife, then the role of children of the hero, as well as the roles of animals are designed for young performers.

“During the work on the performance, we studied a huge amount of materials about the worldwide flood. -Directors and surveying artists Maria Litvinova and Vyacheslav Ignatov write on the theater website . - The discoveries made by us are reflected in the play. This story is not about a cheerful cruise with animals, like most authors for children. This is a story about hard work, the strength and cohesion of the family, which managed to carry light through the death of the whole world. They managed to revive the world again. In our performance, we use dolls, animation and elements of the shadow theater on a huge screen. We will have a lot of unusual on the stage, as it should be in a children's performance. ”

The play “Noah's Ark” is also working as a musical director and conductor Sergey Mikheev, chormaster Ruslan Gene, assistant directors Maxim Usachev, choreographer Nina Madan and others. The costumes for the performance were created by Olga and Elena Bekritsky.
