Demidov, one of the author of the project of an exemplary educational program for the course of the "Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture", explained that the document is not about any new subjects, but about filling the course of content. According to the representative of the Russian Orthodox Church, the project involves the introduction of an object to the clock of hours at the choice of schools, students and their parents.

"Now the task of compulsory teaching from 1st to 11th grades is not worth. During the period of testing of the Orksa course, there were many proposals about the prospects for its expansion, and in particular about teaching, for example, in the 4th, 8th and 10th grades, in order to talk about some basics in elementary school, then at the main stage about the main content of the Orthodox tradition and discuss some worldview issues in high school," - said the deacon.

The authors consider the results of the course the "formation of a worldview based on the Orthodox spiritual and moral tradition" and "readiness for conscious self-restraint in the consumption of life blessings."

The publication referred to a letter sent to 36 members of the federal educational and methodical association for general education last week. The document proposed to evaluate the modified program of the school course "Orthodox culture". In the case of a positive result of the school, federal methodological recommendations for the study of the subject in grades 1-11 were supposed to receive.

Later on Tuesday, President of the RAO Lyudmila Verbitskaya said that the voting on the project was not legitimate and occurred due to the fault of her deputy Viktor Basyuk. “The situation was like this - this program was presented at the educational and methodological association, we examined it, realized that there should be a very serious refinement of this program. But then - without saying anything to me, without showing me anything, my deputy Viktor Basyuk suddenly sent a questionnaire to vote into educational associations,” Verbitsky explained. She emphasized that Basyuk had no right to do so, since the program was not ready yet.

"When the program is finalized, there will still be serious discussions. In this case, this is an unacceptable mistake of my deputy. The program will be finalized," Verbitskaya concluded.
