FSIN warned about problems with the nutrition of prisoners

When reducing the budget of the Russian criminal and executive system, there is a threat of a power supply deficit in the colonies, said Vladimir Sedykh, adviser to the director of the FSIN.

“If the FSIN budget in 2015 amounted to 20.5 billion rubles, then the prisoner had 86 rubles on the day, for which we had to feed it. And since 2019, it will be necessary to feed him for 64 rubles, ”the Sedykh Interfax quotes.

As the representative of the FSIN specified, the budget of 2019 - 15.2 billion rubles - “this is the threshold”, if financing is less, “we will have a breakdown”.

In September, New Gazeta wrote that the FSIN budget has grown six times over the past ten years. The financing service occupies the 6th line among federal ministries and departments.

About 100 rubles per day are spent on the maintenance of one prisoner, the publication indicated. The main volume of the budget of the FSIN "goes to the financial support of employees of the department itself."
