According to the FSB, in 2014, Aselderov was “one of the first” to swear allegiance to the Islamic State. The following year they announced the creation of the “Vilayat Caucasus”.

Aselderov is also considered one of the organizers of the terrorist attacks in Volgograd in 2013. On December 29, a suicide bomber blew himself up at the city station; the next day the terrorist attack was carried out on a trolleybus. 34 people became victims of the terrorist attack.

In December 2014, the Dzerzhinsky Court of Volgograd sentenced four defendants in the case of terrorist attacks in the city. Ibragim Magomedov and Alautdin Dadaev, accused of making explosive devices, were sentenced to 19 years in prison. Brothers Magomednabi and Tagir Batirov were found guilty of aiding terrorists and sentenced to three years and ten months in prison.
