Abkhaz opposition leader detained in Sochi

Aslan Bzhaniya, leader of the Abkhaz opposition, was detained in Sochi. This is reported by "Frontiers. Ru" with reference to the statement of the political council of the "Amtsakhara" party.

The statement says that in Sochi, law enforcement agencies “for two days ... under far-fetched pretexts, carried out measures to find reasons for the detention” of Bzhaniya. Someone in civilian clothes accused the Abkhazian politician of "enemy activities directed against Russia and Abkhazia." The politician was taken several times to the local police department, where he was interrogated. On December 4, when Bzhaniya was about to leave for Abkhazia, he was taken “to a separate room” during passport control, the statement said. According to the political council of the Amtsakhara party, a car with “representatives of law enforcement agencies” soon arrived for the politician, and he was again taken to the Sochi police department.

The party statement says that "these measures against the co-chairman of the Bloc of Opposition Forces are being carried out at the request of the authorities of Abkhazia."
