On December 5, a DDoS attack was made on the websites of the VTB Group, Interfax reports with reference to the bank's press service. The VTB group includes, in addition to the bank of the same name, VTB24 and Post Bank, the agency writes.
“The IT infrastructure is operating normally, bank customers are not experiencing any difficulties,” the statement said.
According to the Interfax report, the agency turned to major Russian banks for comment in connection with the warning about possible cyber attacks made on December 2 by the Federal Security Service.
Earlier, on December 5, the RIA Novosti agency reported that VTB "does not detect attacks on its resources, they are operating as usual."
Alfa-Bank, Tinkoff Bank, Renaissance Credit and Absolut Bank reported to Interfax on Monday that they had not observed any attacks and increased customer demand for cash withdrawals from cards, accounts and deposits. At the moment, Interfax does not have any comments from other large Russian banks.
