In Crimea, the arrest of those involved in the Hizb ut-Tahrir case has been extended

The Kiev District Court of Simferopol extended the terms of detention of two defendants in the criminal case on the Yalta cell of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Arsen Dzhepparov and Muslim Aliyev, for two months. This was reported on December 5 by the site “Crimea. Realities".

Crimean Muslims are accused of participating in a cell of a terrorist organization (Part 1 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code) Hizb ut-Tahrir. On November 17, Aliyev was transferred from the SIZO cell to the psychiatric department for a forced psychiatric examination; On November 24, Arsen Dzhepparov and another defendant in the case, Refat Alimov, were sent for examination.

Law enforcement agencies are opening cases about Hizb ut-Tahrir cells in different regions of the country, while the defendants are charged with reading religious literature, participating in meetings and recruiting supporters - all this is participation in the activities of a terrorist organization. The activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir are banned in a number of countries around the world, but in others, for example, in Ukraine, the organization functions freely.

Hizb ut-Tahrir is an international political organization that aims to establish an Islamic state and a Muslim way of life. It is banned in Russia, Kazakhstan and Germany, but, for example, in Ukraine it can act legally.
