Awarded the Turner Award

On Monday, December 5, in London, the Turner Award ceremony took place in 2016. The laureate of the award was the 31-year-old artist and sculptor Helen Martin.

According to BBC , she was awarded for several projects, including Lunar Nibs installation, presented at the 56th Venetian Biennale of Modern Art, and the personal exhibition “Eucalyptus Let US” in New York.

Helen Martin will receive a cash prize of 25 thousand pounds. This year, Antea Hamilton, Michael Dean and Josephine Pride, they will receive five thousand pounds, were also included in the short list of Turner Prize this year.

According to the director of Tate Britain Alex Farkukharson, the work of the finalists reflect "a world filled with images from the ubiquitous Internet." The exhibition of finalists takes place until January 8 at the Tate London Gallery.

The Turner Prize is annually awarded the artist working in the UK for the best exhibition or other presentation of his work during the year. The finalists are chosen by the jury under the chairmanship of the director of the Gallery Tate.

Last year, the Turner Prize received an Assemble London team, working in the field of architecture and design, for a project for the reconstruction of residential buildings for the poor in Liverpool.
