In St. Petersburg, the conference "Dialogs about Shukshin" will be held for the first time

On Wednesday, December 7, the first international research conference “Dialogues about Shukshin” will be held in the large hall of the open film studio.

The main goal of the conference is to revive the figure of Vasily Shukshin, to show a variety of spectrum of research about him in modern Russia and abroad, to consider his work in the cultural and historical context of the late USSR.

The conference will be attended by researchers of Shukshin’s work from Russia and Great Britain: philologists, culturalists, film experts, art historians.

The organizers hope that the “Shukshin dialogs” initiate a serious discussion of representatives of different areas of humanitarian knowledge. It is planned to publish a collection of reports.

Special film screenings have been prepared for the conference in the Intellectual Literature Store "The Word Order":

• On December 6 at 19:00, philologist Dmitry Maryin will present Marlene Khutor's film “Two Fedors” (1958), in which Vasily Shukshin played his first major role;
• On December 7 at 19:30, Shukshin’s researcher from Barnaul Alexander Kulyapin will present the director's debut of Shukshin “Such a guy lives” (1964);
• On December 8 , at 21:00, a show of the film “Stoves-Lavochka” (1972) will be held, about which Lidia Fedoseeva-Shukshina will tell.

During the implementation of the project, state support funds allocated as a grant in accordance with the order of the President of the Russian Federation dated 05.04.2016 No. 68-RP and on the basis of a competition held by the All-Russian Public Organization “Russian Youth Union” are used.
