The privatization of the 19.5 percent state stake in Rosneft has been completed. This was reported on the Kremlin website. Details of the transaction were discussed at a meeting of Vladimir Putin with Corporation President Igor Sechin.
Promotions were sold for 10.5 billion euros. Buyers were the international company Glencore and the Consortium of the State Fund of Qatar. They acquired equal shares - 9.75 percent.
“The deal was made on the upward trend of oil value,” Putin noted. “Accordingly, this is reflected in the cost of the company itself. In this sense, the time is very successful.”
The head of state added that at the expense of this transaction, as well as the repurchase made in October from the state of Bashneft's shares, the Sechin Corporation ensured the receipt of $ 17.5 billion to the budget. The President of Rosneft, in turn, noted that in terms of Russian currency, this is over 1 trillion rubles.
As noted by RBC, at the beginning of last month, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed an order according to which the privatization of the State Package "Rosneft" was supposed to be completed until December 5, and by the 15th number the money from the sale of shares should be entered the budget. Sechin, according to the publication, has traveled abroad for the last few weeks for negotiations with potential buyers. It was one of these business trips that explained his absence on December 1 at Putin’s speech with a message to the Federal Assembly.
In mid -June, Bloomberg reported that Sechin intends to sell the state package of Rosneft to companies from China and India . RBC on Wednesday reported that Sechin was also in China last week. Nevertheless, in the end, neither Chinese nor Indian companies have acquired the corporation.
