CSKA lost the last match under the leadership of Leonid Slutsky and flew out of the European Cup

CSKA Moscow lost to the English "Tottenham" with a score of 3:1 in the last round of the group stage of the Champions League. The match was the last for the team led by Leonid Slutsky, who has headed the coaching staff since 2009.

The first goal of the match was scored by CSKA midfielder Alan Dzagoev in the 33rd minute. Five minutes later, Dele Alli equalized, soon Harry Kane put the British ahead. The third goal against CSKA, conceded after Alli's shot, was recorded as the goalkeeper of the army team, Igor Akinfeev.

Following the results of six matches, CSKA took the last place in the group and flew out of European competition. A victory over Tottenham would have allowed CSKA to play in the playoffs of the Europa League. To reach the next stage of the Champions League, the team needed to take first or second place.

On December 7, the final alignment was determined in the remaining four of the eight groups of the Champions League. From group E, the first two places guaranteeing access to the playoffs were taken by Monaco and Bayer, in group F - Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid, in group G - Leicester and Porto, in group H - Juventus and Sevilla. The remaining participants in the next stage were determined on December 6.
