The theme of Istanbul Biennale was announced

The theme of the 15th Istanbul Biennale of Contemporary Art, which will be held from September 16 to November 12, 2017, will be a “good neighbor” (a good neight / İyi bir komşu).

According to ArtForum , Biennale participants will explore the concepts of home, neighborhood, and lifestyle - private and public, as well as the changes that our lifestyle has undergone over the past decades.

The press conference on the announcement of the topic of the 15th Istanbul Biennale began with a performance: forty people asked questions about what it means to be a good neighbor.

The curators Biennale Michael Elmgrin and Inga Dragneus discussed its format and presented a promotional project developed jointly with the artist Rupert Smith: Billboards with images and texts telling what it means to be a good neighbor will be installed since March 2017 in cooperation with cultural institutions around the world.
