The Architecture Museum will present an exhibition about modern Japanese architecture

December 16 at the State Museum of Architecture named after A.V. Shchuseva in Moscow will open the exhibition "Parallel Japan: Modern Japanese Architecture."

According to the organizers, the purpose of the exhibition is to show what was happening in the architecture of Japan in 1996-2006, to demonstrate the relationship of Japanese architecture with the changed way of life of citizens on the example of various spheres of a person, uniting them in four sections: “Housing”, “City”, “Life” and “Culture”.

The exposition includes projects of Japanese architects implemented in Japan and beyond, which allow you to trace how the architecture for the outside world differs from the buildings “for yourself”. The idea of ​​the authors is implemented both in large -scale cultural structures claiming world championship, and in municipal structures with a pronounced regional specificity.

The exhibition will present large -scale triptihs consisting of photo panels and united by a common idea, and text panels explaining the relationship between them, as well as voluminous architectural layouts made of wood and paper.

Earlier, the exhibition “Parallel Japan: Modern Japanese Architecture” was demonstrated at the Tokyo Museum, over the past 20 years, it visited 71 countries of the world.

The exhibition "Parallel Japan: Modern Japanese Architecture" in the Museum of Architecture will last until January 29, 2017.
