Greg Lake died

On December 7, at the age of 69, the British musician Greg Lake, a member of the King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer groups, died.

According to the BBC with reference to the manager of Greg Lake, the cause of death was cancer.

Greg Lake was born in 1947 in the pool (Dorset County), at the age of 12 he learned to play the guitar, in 1968, along with his school friend Robert Fripp, he founded a progressive rock group King Crimson , where he switched to bass guitar. He participated in the recording of the first two albums of King Crimson - “In the Court of the Crimson King” and “In the Wake of Poseidon” .

In 1970, he became part of the London trio Emerson, Lake & Palmer , which was to become one of the most commercially successful groups of the progressive rock of the 1970s.

Back in 1975, Greg Lake began a solo career, recording the song “I Believ in Father Christmas” , which took second place in the British chart of Singles. Also, the musician collaborated with ASIA and Trans-Siberian Orchestra groups, in the mid-2000s he toured with his own Greg Lake Band group.

In the summer of 2010, reuniting with Kit Emerson and Karl Palmer, Greg Lake performed in London at the last concert Emerson, Lake & Palmer .
