
Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev suspended Grigory Pirumov, who was under investigation, under investigation. The corresponding order is published on the official portal of legal information.
Pirumov is one of the main defendants in the so -called "case of restorers." He is accused of embezzlement of state funds allocated for the restoration of cultural heritage objects. As part of the case, he was detained and is in the Lefortovo pre -trial detention center.
The investigation suspects Pirumov of organizing a group into which he attracted other participants, including the heads of construction contractors. The goal, according to the investigation, was the theft of funds by overestimation of the cost of restoration of a number of cultural heritage monuments.
The case was opened on March 10, 2016. All participants in the alleged criminal group were charged with four episodes of fraud.
According to investigators, officials at the conclusion of contracts received kickbacks that "spent at their discretion." The damage in the case is still more than 100 million rubles, but it can be revised towards the increase. To repay it from the defendants of the investigation, apartments, country houses and cars were arrested.
