In April, Rosobrnadzor completely suspended the state accreditation of higher education programs at the European University. At the same time, the university cannot issue diplomas of the established Ministry of Education and Science of Russia of the sample and guarantee students from service in the armed forces on conscription," the department noted.

The acting rector of the European University Nikolai Vakhtin said that the verification of Rosobnadzor "revealed a certain number of formal violations" in a number of documents accompanying the educational process. The university is given to the university by law for a month. "The suspension of the action of state accreditation in such cases is the usual practice. The EUSPB leadership is currently working to eliminate these violations and finish this work on time," Vakhtin assured.

At the end of January 2008, the State Medical Supervision of the University discovered 52 violations of fire safety rules on the university on Gagarinskaya Street. The activities of the university were suspended.

The fire inspectorate recorded 3, “elimination of more than half of the previously identified violations” in the building on Gagarinskaya Street, on the basis of which the European University filed a petition to remove the imposed sanctions. The court satisfied the petition. Thus, administrative punishment in the form of suspension of the activities of the educational institution was terminated ahead of schedule.

As a representative of the fire inspectorate of the Central District of St. Petersburg stated during the court session, part of the instructions of the inspection university “fulfilled in full”, and those that require coordination “are at the stage of execution,” therefore, the operation of the university building is considered possible.

NOU VPO "European University in St. Petersburg" is a non -state higher educational institution founded in 1994. About 150 people work here, of which 69 are full -time and 26 invited professors. Of these, 31 people have the degree of Doctor of Sciences and 44 - candidate of sciences.
