The IOC promised to recheck the doping samples of Russian athletes from the Sochi Olympics

The International Olympic Committee will recheck 254 samples of doping samples taken from Russian athletes during the Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014, the reports . agency's official website

"All 63 blood samples taken from Russian athletes at the Sochi Olympics have already been re-analyzed in collaboration with Professor McLaren and have come back negative," the committee said, noting that World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) commission chief Richard McLaren there was no authority to conduct an independent analysis of doping samples.

Earlier on Friday, the head of WADA, Richard McLaren, presented the second part of the report on doping in Russian sports. According to the agency, more than a thousand Russian athletes in 30 sports are associated with doping.

The report covers the period from 2011 to 2015. Then, McLaren writes, a system was developed in Russia to conceal positive doping tests. Most of the athletes (more than 80%) mentioned in the report represented summer sports.

Presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the Kremlin was studying the report. According to him, one should not react emotionally to the mention in the report of the “state conspiracy” allegedly existing in Russia on the substitution of doping samples.
