Parishioners of a mosque were detained in Crimea

In the village of Orlovka, near Sevastopol, on December 9, police officers detained 11 parishioners of the local mosque. This was reported by "Crimea. Realii” with reference to human rights activist Dilyaver Memetov.

Unfortunately, this is not the first such incident, it happened on May 6, 2016, when they wanted to take the mosque parishioners, also after Friday prayers, by bus to the police station, but, fortunately, they did not succeed. The fact is that on this day, Muslims gather in mosques to perform collective prayer, and this is a convenient moment to once again frighten people, intimidate and discourage the desire to perform the rites of religion. Of course, law enforcement agencies will write it off as an accident, that they were allegedly looking for some kind of terrible “terrorist”, but they were mistaken. However, we understand that the first time is a coincidence, the second is an accident, and the third is a pattern.

According to him, the detainees were taken to the police department under the pretext of searching for suspects in crimes. After being fingerprinted, all were released.
