Today, December 12, the European University in St. Petersburg (EUSPB) has published an official comment in connection with the suspension of the educational license. The leadership of the university intends to seek its restoration.
The decision to suspend the license was made on December 7 by Rosobrnadzor.
As noted in the commentary on the EUSPB website , violations for which the university has a license is suspended, they are formal: at the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology there is no necessary share of practitioners, teachers working under urgent labor contracts did not pass certification, and, finally, at the address of the university there is no gym.
The commentary sets out the sequence of events that led to the suspension of the license. In the summer of 2016, on the complaint of the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Vitaly Milonov, the Prosecutor General’s Office initiated an integrated verification of the EUSPB, in July-August the university visited 11 control and supervision services.
On July 14, the second for 4 months of an unscheduled audit of the EUSPB was carried out by Rosobrnadzor. Compliance with licensing requirements, the compliance of educational programs with federal state educational standards and the implementation of the requirements of the legislation on education were transposed.
Since then, the University notified Rosobrnadzor of eliminating the identified violations, the President of the Russian Federation, on the basis of a letter from the Board of Trustees of the University, instructed the Government of the Russian Federation to find a positive decision and not allow the suspension of the educational process in the EUSPB. Nevertheless, the action of the educational license was suspended.
“The leadership of the university will strive to resolve the situation by all legal means, in cooperation with Rosobrnadzor and with the help of the Government of the Russian Federation,” the official commentary of the EUSPB says.
