The document was prepared by the Ministry of Defense in pursuance of the Decree of Vladimir Putin "On the further improvement of military service in the Russian Federation." On October 14, the government introduced a document to the lower ward . On November 16, he passed the first reading .
According to the current standards, the minimum contract for the soldier, sailor, sergeant and foreman is two years, and for the ensign, midshipman and the officer - five years. The new bill provides for contracts for the term “until the termination of circumstances that caused the need to conclude them”, but not less than six months and no more than a year.
Short -term contracts are supposed to be concluded "only during the period of emergency" or to participate in activities to maintain or restore peace and security or to suppress international terrorist activities outside the territory of Russia. "
These contracts can subscribe to both citizens in reserve and with conscripts.
