In the Jewish Autonomous Region, the prosecutor's office will inspect a kindergarten where children fell ill en masse

The Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor's Office of the Jewish Autonomous Region are inspecting a kindergarten in the village of Bira, where children fell ill en masse. Possible causes of the disease are cold and unsanitary conditions.

As TASS reports with reference to the senior assistant prosecutor of the Jewish Autonomous Region Zhanna Krepkogorskaya, more than 90 children from school No. 24 and a kindergarten in Bir came to the Teploozersk central district hospital. Doctors diagnosed some of them with an acute respiratory infection. “The prosecutor’s office is conducting an investigation into cases of non-compliance with temperature conditions and unsanitary conditions in a preschool institution,” Krepkogorskaya said.

Experts will take temperature measurements in the kindergarten premises and check the sanitary and epidemiological condition of the institution. Also during the inspection, investigators will give assessment of the actions of the kindergarten management, local administration and utility companies.

Previously it was reported that there were no long-term coal reserves at boiler houses in the Smidovichi district of the region. The lack of coal caused a decrease in water temperature in central heating networks. The prosecutor's office cited the regional government's debt to pay compensation to utility companies as the reason, which, in turn, were unable to purchase the required amount of fuel.
