The Moscow City Court canceled the arrest of property belonging to the former head of the Moscow Anti -Doping Laboratory Grigory Rodchenkov. As TASS reports , the court decided to cancel the decision of the Basmanny Court of Moscow, sending the case for a new trial to the same court, but in another composition.

During the meeting, the investigator said that he was asking to interrogate Rodchenkov in the United States in a criminal case. "Currently, a request for legal assistance in the interrogation of Rodchenkov has been sent to the United States, but no answer has been received," he said.

The investigation also believes that the land plot and houses in the Solnechnogorsk district of the Moscow Region can be purchased for money received from the sale of prohibited drugs, and Rodchenkov himself sold to Russian athletes under the guise of vitamins.

In turn, lawyer Alexei Sklyarenko read the testimony of Rodchenkov’s wife. She said that she did not know if her husband had a different source of income except salary.

“I don’t know if my husband had a different source of financing, except for the salary. My husband gave the house and land plot to my daughter and sent me a power of attorney from the United States, where he lives now. The house was re -registered to our daughter Marina as a wedding gift,” the testimony said.

In August, Basmannaya imposed security arrest on the land plot of Rodchenkov.

Rodchenkov resigned in November 2015 at the very beginning of a doping scandal. He later left Russia and settled in the USA. On May 12, 2016, The New York Times published an interview with a former official in which he accused dozens of Russian athletes of using doping , including 15 gold medalists. According to him, this was part of a carefully developed and over the years of the state program. Rodchenkov admitted that he developed three mixtures from the forbidden drugs that he mixed with alcohol and gave athletes.

Russian anti-doping experts and special services, continued the cursory official, replaced the doping tests of the athletes of the Russian team with “pure” samples, taken a few months before the Olympic competitions. By the end of the games, about 100 urine samples were replaced in this way.
