Because of this, the most anticipated battle of the year broke-the fight of Povetkin with the American Deonteet Wilder. The Russian team admitted that the boxer took the drug, but stopped doing this a few months before Meldonium was on the list of prohibited. Then Povetkin decided not to disqualify, but the battle with Wilder was canceled.
