Four suspects in an attack on a policeman in the Oktyabrsky district of Grozny were killed during an attempt to arrest them, cites RIA Novosti data from the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. Two attackers were wounded and taken to hospital.
According to him, at night a group of armed people attacked a police officer and drove away in his car, after which the “Interception” plan was introduced.
“A few minutes later it became known that this group entered the house of one of the police officers in another place, but, not finding him, fled. After a short time, those blocking the city's intersections managed to locate the car with the bandits. While trying to detain the car, the criminals knocked down a traffic police officer and, opening fire, tried to escape. The bandits were neutralized by return fire. Two of them were taken to the hospital, four were killed,” Kadyrov said.
The identities of the attackers are now being established. It is known that there was a girl with them; nothing is reported about her fate.
“The situation in the city is calm. The movement of vehicles is carried out as usual,” the head of Chechnya emphasized, adding that there were no casualties among police officers, and a traffic police officer was injured.
At the same time, the Caucasian Knot writes that six people were killed during the shootout. According to the publication, six people barricaded themselves in a house near Lorsanova Street in the center of Grozny and opened fire on security forces. “It’s two streets from Putin Avenue. A very dense firefight from automatic weapons was heard,” a local resident told the publication.
