The UN Security Council agreed on the compromise text of the Aleppo resolution

The UN Security Council agreed on a draft resolution on the evacuation of civilians from Aleppo under the control of international humanitarian organizations. According to TASS, this was announced by the Permanent Representative of Russia at the UN Vitaly Churkin following the results of the closed meeting of the Security Council. According to him, the vote will be held at 17:00 Moscow time.

In response to the question of the admission of international observers in Aleppo, Churkin said that "everything will be fine." The US Permanent Representative Samantha Power expressed the hope that the resolution would be adopted unanimously. According to her, the resulting draft resolution "contains all the key provisions that will allow organizing the UN monitoring", having involved more than 100 employees of the World Organization in Aleppo, as well as personnel of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Syrian Society of the Red Crescent.
