Almost "Oscar" for plagiators

The sciences, a member of the Ukrainian movement "Dissergate", told the TRV-hobby about the new anti-aircraft for the special achievements in the field of academic dislike, which will now be awarded in the country related to us. Maybe in Russia it is worth thinking about the delivery of such a “award” to the best falsifiers?

A year ago, in Ukraine, a natural answer to the most topical scientific, educational and social problems was formed, the dissertergate initiative group was formed. It unites scientists, university teachers, researchers of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Representatives of various specialties - physicists, economists, mathematicians, doctors, biologists, philologists, philosophers - was close to the idea of ​​a real, not nominal struggle with plagiarism, specific plagiarists, and fake dissertations factories.

The identification of plagiators, their support groups, horizontal and vertical plagiarism ties were actively and intensively throughout the year. Constantly, almost in the news feed, relevant events on the social network on Facebook by the Plagiat group [1] on the website “Error and Falsification in Scientific Research” [2], created by the efforts of Kand. Biol. Sciences, associate professor of Sumy State University Oleg Smirnov, on the website of the Public Organization of the throne [3], as well as in a number of speeches of the members of the Dissergate in Ukrainian and Russian mass media [4].

As the new names of plagiators are found, people who sympathize with them, who come to the aid in difficult times of exposure, most importantly, new Jesuit methods and techniques for protecting plagiarism, the “dissertergate” gradually formed one idea. It focused on the need to draw attention not only to the problem of incorrect citation, which is mentioned a lot at all levels of Ukrainian society, but also to real, typologically similar systemic connections and relations of plagiators, always embodied in specific personalities and actions.

And if in the Ukrainian scientific and educational discourse officially, under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science, intentions are stated about the revival of the norms of academic respectability, then why not take part in this?! A meaningful form for the implementation of this idea was an ironic stylization for events that are so attractive to people who are stalled to power and public, mass-media fame.

The Dissergate decided to note people for the special achievements in the field of academic dislikes: “Academic is not the Rock” (“Academic dishonesty of the year”). It is based on a well -known and easily readable image of a black mark, one of the attributes of which is variations on the topic of the head of a cheerful Roger - and has become a certificate logo for those who consciously and professionally engage in plagiarism.

On December 12, 2016, the press center of the Intrafax-Ukraine news agency in the presence of journalists of Ukrainian mass media rewarded with Dissergate activists with personal certificates of plagiators, falsifiers, pseudo-scientists, “toxic” rector and officials-improvised plagiators. As the Coordinator of Dissergate, Cand, noted in the introductory word. Econ. Sciences, Associate Professor S. Blagodnyeva-Vovk: “The catastrophic situation in the science and education of Ukraine is due not only to their low financing, but also by the twenty-five-year-old negative selection of managing personnel of almost all levels. In the scientific and educational space, a system has been formed that applies negative, violations of the norms and principles of professional ethics of academic practices. They are primarily aimed at increasing social status, career advancement, receiving posts and lifelong rent in the form of surcharges for dishonestly obtained scientific degrees, titles. The activities of this kind of system are destructive, because it is based on the exclusion of honest competition and marginalization of respectable, professional scientists, teachers. Modernization of the state is impossible without the revival and development of quality education and science. For their reform, it is necessary to carry out the process of real rather than rhetorical cleansing. It is for this that the ceremony of “Acadrical is the goodness of the rock” was created. ”

This event was preceded by a ten-day folk vote on the social network Facebook in the most popular and trust among the scientific and educational intelligentsia groups. For voting, five nominations were proposed that the Activists of Dissergate represented at the event.
