The Syrian Islamic coalition "Jaysh al-Fatam" (Ar. Army of conquest) and one of its main structures-"Jabhat Fatam Esh-Sham" (former "Jabhat al-Nusra")-rejected their involvement in the murder of the Russian ambassador in Ankara Andrei Karlov. It claimed that the former Turkish police mover Mert Altyntash, who shot Karlov, was a member of the Jabhat Fatam Esh-Sham. The murder of the ambassador was called "the first act of revenge for women, children and the elderly from Aleppo, as well as for the blood of Muslims spilled around the world."

At the same time, on Wednesday, Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said the investigation established the relationship of the killer with Feto, the organization of the Islamic preacher Fethullah Gulen. “This person was a member of Feto, there is no need to hide it. On Monday evening, Karpov was mortally wounded at the opening of the photo exhibition "Russia through the eyes of a traveler: from Kaliningrad to Kamchatka" in the center of contemporary art in Ankara. The ambassador was delivered to the hospital, where he died of wounds.

22-year-old Altyntash was dismissed from the police after trying to coup in July 2016. Having shot the ambassador, he shouted at a mixture of Arabic and Turkish languages: "Allahu Akbar! Do not forget about Aleppo! Do not forget about Syria! Only death will stop me. Everyone who participated in the oppression will be paid for this - one after another." The attacker was killed by special forces.

The Turkish authorities consider the involvement of Altyntash as the main version in the movement of supporters of Gulen, who is accused of trying to try. It is noted that Altyntash has never been in Syria and has not been seen in relations with Syrian groups. At the same time, he studied in one of the schools created by the Gulen movement, and during the coup attempt to go on vacation for two days in Turkey. Gulen himself, living in the United States, rejected involvement in the murder of the Russian ambassador, calling such statements "ridiculous."

On Wednesday, President Vladimir Putin posthumously awarded Karlov the title of Hero of Russia. The corresponding decree is published on the Kremlin website.

The document notes that the highest title of Russia was awarded to Carlov for the "manifested resistance and courage" as an ambassador in Turkey and for the "great contribution to the implementation of the foreign policy" of Russia ".

Meanwhile, the government approved the procedure for the burial of the dead or deceased ambassadors of Russia. The document signed and entered into force on Wednesday is published on the official portal of legal information. It provides for giving military honors during the burial of military honors, as well as compensation to relatives of the costs of transporting the body and funeral.
