A criminal case has been opened against the deputy head of the administration of the city of Kerch and the deputy director of one of the municipal unitary enterprises of the city, according to the website of the Investigative Committee.
They are suspected of extorting a bribe by a group of persons by prior agreement, a criminal case has been initiated.
According to the investigation, on December 6 this year, the city administration and the contractor signed an agreement worth 3.8 million rubles. The contractor had to install road signs, traffic lights, as well as public transport stops.
However, the official and the director of the municipal enterprise, according to investigators, demanded that the contractor transfer 10% of the contract amount to them for further assistance to the enterprise.
The suspects were detained on December 21 while transferring money. The detention was carried out by officers of the FSB in the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
